New Year’s Resolutions and Two Things I Am Grateful For….

It’s that time again, the time when many people make resolutions to stop doing things they know are not good for them. I have a couple of things for you to seriously think about this year; God and guns.

Why? Because of the long traditions of our country, even from the founding there were two things in common among the majority of people, the need for religion and firearms. When you read about many of our founding fathers you cannot help but read something about their belief in a God in heaven.

Make no mistake about it, I believe that God sent his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and He is our only way into heaven. Although we may not think alike in this respect, I am grateful that we have the freedom to choose who and what we believe. Above all things in this world I am grateful for a God in heaven that has chosen me to partake of His salvation offered by His sacrificial death on the cross.

The second freedom that I am grateful for is our right to keep and bear arms, the right given to us by the second amendment to our constitution. Although it seems like our right is being chipped away, we still have more freedom in that respect than do most of the world. This year consider our freedom and what you can do to help preserve it. If you are not an NRA member by all means join. I do not agree with everything the NRA does, but I do know that they are continually working to help preserve our right to keep and bear arms. Among the many things you think about in 2012, think about the two I listed and resolve to do something about both this year.

Now on to the specials for the week. I have two new pistols and one used rifle up for sale. The two pistols I have I need to sell asap so I will sell them at my cost. The first is a Magnum Research Baby Eagle Polymer version in 9mm, 3.93″ barrel with rail. It comes with two 15 round magazines, plastic case and all the normal accessories (cleaning stuff, lock etc.). I will also offer local buyers the option to purchase ammo and/or accessories at cost (i.e. if you want ammo, a light since it has a rail, laser etc.). It’s the BE 9915RSL model. I am letting this go for $520 out the door for local buyers, a price I doubt you will find anywhere. It is not very often that you will run across NIB firearms at dealer cost. This is one of those times.

The second pistol I have is the Magnum Research Micro Eagle in 380 acp. I will let this one go for $410 out the door to local buyers.

The last gun I have is a used Browning BLR 81 lever action rifle in .243. It was made in 2004 and looks new except for a couple minor blemishes. It comes with high rise scope rings and I will let it go for $500 out the door for local buyers. If you want a scope with it I will throw in a NIB Nikon Pro Staff 3-9×40 mounted and bore sighted for $625 out the door.

Lastly for this week I will be raising my transfer fees for inbound transfers. I hate to do it but my costs are going up. Many times I drive to Clear Lake in order to pick up one package just so I can get the transfer done and to my customer the day it shows up, this quickly eats up my profits. So, my 2012 rate for Texas CHL holders is now $20 and my rate without a Texas CHL is $30. My outbound transfer fee will remain the same, $30 plus actual shipping and insurance cost. I think these rates are still the lowest in the area and pretty reasonable considering that 90% of the time I can get you your firearm the day it is delivered.

I thank you for taking the time to read the blog and I thank you for your patronage.
